Press Release Body: The Chennai Superstars have managed to inflict another defeat on the Ahmedabad Rockets and have now confirmed their entry in the semi-finals of the Edelweiss Twenty20 Challenge of the ICL. The heroes of the game were Shabbir and Arnold who led their team to a 22 run victory.
The Superstars team won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening of the match was done by Harvey and Vignesh who had thought they would cash in on the chance, but that did not happen as both of them lost their wickets by the end of the second over. Arnold came in at the third place and managed to get a momentum running for the team. He kept scoring some good runs and this was initially with support from Law but he could not manage to be there for long. Badani was on the field after him who managed to support him well and made some a contribution to the team from his own kitty. Arnold scored 69 runs off 51 balls and Badani made 45 runs off 47 balls. The final score of the team was 161 runs. Gillespie obtained 3 wickets in four overs at the cost of 25 runs.
The batting line up of the Rockets had been averagely strong in the tournament. Out of the two openers, Martyn was not able to stay on field for long and got out after making 7 runs. Hinds however added 21 runs to the team score. It was mainly the middle order batsmen who supoorted the team score and made runs in twenties and thirties but still were not able to reach the target. The fall of wickets regularly did not let that happen and the team finished at 139 runs. Shabbir Ahmed did some fabulous bowling and hauled 4 wickets in 4 overs and 20 runs.
